Today, I would like to announce/introduce some ZOOM classes for Japan.
Last year was a hard year, and it is still ongoing problem for the world.
So I started Graham technique class for Japan on ZOOM, and this month, August, we will have 2 Graham classes and 2 Taylor style master classes!!!
今日は昨年の秋に始め、続けている日本向けのグラハムテクニッククラスからのお知らせです。通常のグラハムテクニックのクラス２回、そしてテイラースタイルのクラスを２回開催いたします。
Paul Taylor is a very important dancer/choreographer for American Modern Dance. He danced in Martha Graham Dance Company and then developed his own dance style, dance company of 6 dancers, and performed all over the world. Now the company is a big company ( studio is in the lower east side in NYC)
Rei Akasawa was picked by Paul to be in his chamber ensemble "Taylor 2".
ポール・テイラーはアメリカンモダンダンスの重要なダンサー、振付け師でした。マーサ・グラハム舞踊団で踊り、その後自分のスタイルの踊りを築きました。
今回はそのテイラー自身から抜擢され、テイラー舞踊団のチャンバーアンサンブル・テイラ−２にて８年間踊っていた赤澤鈴さんにマスタークラスをお願いしました。
In this online class, one will learn basic of Graham technique class, some excerpts from repertory to learn how to use technique and adopt theatrical idea thru dance movement and introduce other modern dance style developed from Graham technique. May be we can talk what is different/similarity of those exercises. Modern/contemporary classes should have sequence, vigorous just like ballet, but from there, good teach could develop and give variations. That will make dance. Teachers who we will offer are professional dancer/teacher who could teach with pedagogy and professional experiences as much as possible.
このZOOMでのクラスでは、グラハムテクニック、レパートリーを通じてテクニックと演劇の必然性を探ること、そしてグラハム関連のグラハム以外のモダンダンスのスタイルの紹介をしていきたいと思っています。グラハムをはじめ、モダンダンスのメソッド、スタイルではバレエのような、シークエンスがあり、そこからバリエーションがどんどん広がり、踊りにつながっていくシステムになっています。ペダゴジー（教育学）に沿って教えることのできるプロのダンサー、ダンス教育者の方たちにマスタークラスをお願いすることを目指しています。
Rei is the only Japanese female dancer with Paul Taylor company that I know. Akiko Kanda danced with Paul ( they danced with Graham together I assume) during his early years of choreographic development. Not many Japanese people know about "Taylor" but he is a very important American modern dancer/choreographer and company.
今回の鈴さんはテイラー自身に抜擢され、彼の作品を彼自身、そしてオリジナルキャストから習い、コーチを受け、そしてポールの作品作りにも関わっている数少ない日本人ダンサーです。ポール・テイラーはあまり日本では馴染みにない名前だと思いますが、アメリカンモダンダンスにおいてはとても重要なダンサー、振付師、そしてカンパニーです。
グラハムテクニック、テイラースタイルを日本語で学ぶことのできる珍しい機会です。
